John BeddowJohn Beddow, publisher of the Houston Business Journal, has announced his retirement.

Giselle Greenwood, the managing editor of the American City Business Journals paper, writes, “Beddow joined American City Business Journals, the parent company of HBJ, in 1983 and has served as publisher of three of the chain’s papers: the Pittsburgh Business Times, the Tampa Bay Business Journal and the Houston Business Journal.

“‘It’s been a high honor to be the publisher of HBJ,’ Beddow said. ‘I’ll miss the action, the pressure and, most of all, the thrill of the success our team has been a part of and helped create.’

“During Beddow’s tenure with the Houston Business Journal, the paper has won several awards, completed a successful redesign and launched Energy Inc., a statewide newsletter. He is also a prominent face in the community as co-host of The BusinessMakers on KNTH 1070 AM.”
