Gross named executive editor of Strategy+Business

Daniel grossBusiness journalist Daniel Gross has been named executive editor of Strategy+Business magazine, the business media online and print journal published by PwC Strategy& Inc.

As executive editor, Gross will report to editor-in-chief Art Kleiner, helping to oversee editorial operations and build out the magazine’s coverage and digital presence.

“Daniel is a highly respected business writer, with a long record of being ahead of the curve on the forces transforming the U.S. and global economies,” said Kleiner in a statement. “He’s an ideal fit for s+b and our core audience of business leaders. With his expertise in economics, innovation, technology, and global trends, he will be expanding and deepening s+b’s coverage of the issues that matter most to senior executives today.”

During his 25-year career, Gross has worked as a reporter for the New Republic and Bloomberg News; authored the “Economic View” column for the New York Times and “Moneybox” for Slate; served as a columnist and senior editor at Newsweek, and been economics editor and co-host of “The Daily Ticker” at Yahoo Finance.

Most recently, he was columnist and business editor at the Daily Beast. He has written cover stories for New York and the New York Times Magazine, and has contributed to Fortune, the Washington Post, and the Boston Globe.

Gross is a New York Times best-selling author of seven books on political economy, innovation, and business history, including Better, Stronger, Faster: The Myth of American Decline – and the Rise of a New Economy (Free Press, 2012), Pop! Why Bubbles Are Great for the Economy (Collins, 2007), and The Generations of Corning: The Life and Times of a Global Corporation (Oxford University Press, 2001, with Davis Dyer).

He holds a B.A. from Cornell University, an A.M. from Harvard University.
