Tom Krazit, the executive editor of tech news site GigaOm, is leaving. His last day will be Friday.
Krazit writes, “It’s been an honor and privilege to lead this group, one of the best groups of tech writers I’ve ever been associated with. I don’t think there’s any other group in technology and business media that is covering tech across as many sectors with as much skill and integrity as our folks, and I will greatly miss being part of that day-to-day creative process.
“But I chuckled a few weeks ago at a tweet from Techcrunch’s Matthew Panzarino, who knows all too well what it takes to lead a modern tech media newsroom.
“It’s time for me to bring that equation back into more of a balance.
“I have no specific plans at the moment, although there are a few of those proverbial irons in the fire. I’m honestly looking forward to a bit of a break from the grind of the modern media cycle, and I hope to emerge on the other side with more time to write and contribute to places that I respect.”
