Georgia paper wants reader input on business section

The Athens Banner-Herald has made changes to its business section, now called On the Money, and wants reader input about some other changes it’s considering.

Athens Banner-HeraldAssociate editor Don Nelson wrote, “We’d like your input, however, on what might help make the business coverage better. For example, we have discussed the possibility of adding a feature that provides a short profile of a working person, be it a bank teller or a waitress. Would that be of interest to readers? In the past, we had a business calendar, but often had trouble getting people to send in events for the listings. Would business people in the community like to see that feature renewed? We formerly carried a convention calendar that told what conferences were coming up, where they would be held and how many people were attending. Would that be useful?

“Are there current features we should drop, or areas of local, state, national or international interest that would enhance the section? What kind of financial news would be helpful? What topics should local professionals offer advice on?

“Do you want a section that lists new developments being planned or starting construction?

“We welcome all suggestions, but might not be able to accommodate everything you request. At least let us hear your comments.”
