FT launches new IT section

September 23, 2010

The Financial Times announced Thursday the launch of “The Connected Business,” which goes live today on FT.com and will be featured monthly in a pull-out section in the FT newspaper beginning on Sept. 29.

The section will highlight the latest IT trends, products and strategies. The online service will combine news, analysis, commentary, videos and interactive features, both from FT journalists and guest contributors. The newspaper features will focus on how IT can best be applied to different aspects of a business, addressing a new area each month.

“The Connected Business” will be edited by Paul Taylor, U.S. telecommunications editor and technology correspondent for the FT, who will also continue to write a weekly technology review column online.

“Senior executives often struggle to find time to exchange ideas with CIOs and IT managers, causing them to be left out of vital information that could help their companies operate more efficiently,” said Taylor in a statement. “‘The Connected Business’ will fill this void by providing constructive and accessible insight that can be applied to businesses across virtually all industries, ensuring FT readers stay ahead of the curve in this fast-changing world.”

“The Connected Business” replaces the FT’s “Digital Business” section.
