Four business journalists — three business reporters and an assistant business editor — lost their jobs Tuesday as part of the layoffs at the Houston Chronicle.

They are reporters Bill Hensel Jr., Lynn Cook and Brad Hem, as well as assistant business editor Ken Lanterman.

Hensel covered the airline industry for the paper. Last week, he interviewed the CEO of Continental Airlines for a major story.

Hem covered technology for the paper. He’s a 1999 graduate of the University of Missouri.

Cook is a veteran of the energy and oil beat at the Chronicle. Lanterman oversaw small business coverage at the paper, which has two other assistant business editors.

UPDATE: Two copy editors on the business desk — Jessica Creighton and Joe Markman — were also laid off from the Chronicle.
