Former Wichita biz editor takes education job

A former business editor at The Wichita Eagle was named Tuesday as director of communications for the Kansas State Department of Education, according to a brief in the newspaper.

Cynthia Williams, who was in charge of The Eagle’s business coverage from March 2004 to January 2006, worked previously as a business reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. At The Eagle she went by the name Cynthia Wilson. Her appointment takes effect Aug. 28.
