ForbesLife Executive Woman names executive ME

ForbesLife Executive Woman announced Tuesday that Mary Ellen Egan has been named executive managing editor.

She has been serving as associate editor and chief of reporters for Forbes.

In this newly created position, Egan will play a pivotal role in shaping and editing ForbesLife Executive Woman, Forbes’ quarterly publication for professional women. She will also help lead events for the magazine and continue to co-edit Forbes magazine’s annual list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.

“Mary Ellen has a great track record as an editor who has covered a variety of subjects for Forbes,” said Carol Hymowitz, editorial director of the ForbesLife Executive Woman group, in a statement. “She is passionate about providing the best coverage on executive women and their complex lives.”

Egan joined Forbes as a reporter in April 2000 and has been an associate editor and chief of reporters for the past four years. Prior to joining Forbes, she worked as an investigative reporter and features writer for City Pages, an alternative weekly based in Minneapolis. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Speech/Communications.
