Financial Week, now dead, is big winner at Neal Awards

March 20, 2009

Financial Week, the Crain Communications print publication that was shut down at the end of last year, ended up winning five Jesse Neal Awards on Thursday.

The awards are presented by American Business Media to primarily trade publications.

Financial Week, which had its Web site closed earlier this month by Crain, won in the category of best single article for a special report on 401(k) benefits. It also won in the best subject-related series of articles for editorials about the bailout.

Financial Week was also a winner in the news coverage and single-issue category for its reporting on the credit crunch. And its Web site was a winner as well for site with less than 100,000 viewers each month.

Bnet.com was a winner for best Web site with more than 400,000 viewers per month. Forbes.com was a finalist in that category.
