Dow Jones MediaAnna Sedgley, the chief operating officer at Dow Jones & Co., the parent of The Wall Street Journal and MarketWatch.com, sent out the following announcement on Tuesday:

Dear All,

I am very pleased to welcome Christina Van Tassell to Dow Jones as our new Chief Financial Officer.

Christina is a seasoned executive with extensive experience managing, leading and driving results for a global company. Her leadership experiences and her impressive client-centric reputation make her particularly well suited to help Dow Jones achieve our corporate goals.

Christina recently served as Global Chief Financial Officer for Xaxis, a WPP/GroupM Company, where she provided critical leadership during a period of rapid growth and innovation. Prior to that she was Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Centurion Holdings LLC, and held roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

She has an MBA from Columbia Business School and is a graduate of Muhlenberg College.

Christina officially joins Dow Jones on November 27th, and will be based in New York. She will be reporting to me and joining the Executive Committee.

As you know, I’ve spent the past year in the dual role of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. With Christina joining as Chief Financial Officer, I will be devoting my time and energy to the COO role, overseeing projects that connect strategic initiatives to our operational tactics. All members of the Finance team now report to Christina.

Please join me in welcoming Christina to Dow Jones.
