Scott Bemis, the publisher of the Denver Business Journal for the past 18 years, announced plants Tuesday to retire on April 40.

Dennis Huspeni of the paper writes, “Bemis has spent 30 years with American City Business Journals, the DBJ’s parent company.

“‘If you look in the B’s in the ACBJ dictionary, you’ll see a photo of Scott Bemis with the following definition: ‘Good guy doing good work and good works’,’ said ACBJ President and CEO Whitney Shaw, who was in Denver for Bemis‘ announcement. ‘He’s been publisher at more business journals than anyone else at ACBJ.’

“Bemis, 63, was publisher of business journals in Indianapolis and Rochester, N.Y., and the Cincinnati Business Courier before coming to Denver in 1996.

“He and his wife, Pat, will continue to live in the Denver area, and Bemis plans to stay active in the business community.”
