Dallas Business Journal editor Jeffrey Schnick sent out the following announcement:
We’re thrilled to announce that Rebecca Ayers will be joining our newsroom as our Digital Reporter.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina’s journalism school, Rebecca is currently serving as an intern for GrepBeat, an online publication focusing on tech coverage, particularly startups, in the Research Triangle.
Prior to that, she served as a freelancer for Business North Carolina and as an intern for our sister paper and our current publisher Ollie Chandhok’s former home, the Triad Business Journal in Greensboro. While there, she covered tech, healthcare, innovation and real estate, along with events. She is known for her upbeat attitude and a willingness to work with others to get the story.
In her role as Digital Reporter, Rebecca will report to Managing Editor-News Anna Butler, and will focus on covering events, writing profiles and handling daily transactional news coverage, while also assisting Data Reporter Taylor Tompkins with data research.
Her first day will be June 24. Please welcome me in joining Rebecca to the team!
