Dan Colarusso is the new executive editor of Reuters Digital, making him the third person this year to hold that title at the news service, reports Joe Pompeo at Capital New York.

Pompeo writes, “His appointment, announced in an internal memo obtained by Capital, follows the resignation last week of Jim Roberts, who had taken the job in February after accepting a buyout from The New York Times. Prior to that, it was held by Jim Impoco, who left Reuters in January and was recently named editor of Newsweek.

“Colarusso, formerly an editor at  Bloomberg TV, the New York Post and Conde Nast Portfolio, joined Reuters in 2011, working on the video side. He will ‘continue his current responsibilities as global head of programming, which includes overseeing … consumer video offerings,’ according to the memo from Reuters editor-in-chief Steve Adler.

“The news comes just a week after Reuters scrapped its ambitious consumer-facing web reboot, Reuters Next, after two years of development.”
