CNNMoney.com saw a huge increase in readers in April, according to data from the April 15 comScore Multi-Platform Report, passing The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg, among others.
CNNMoney saw an 18 percent increase in unique viewers to 22.3 million, while every other business and financial news site saw a decline in viewers except for Bloomberg. It jumped to the No. 4 site in the category, up from No. 9 in March.
The site has been investing heavily in video, mobile and analytics since it split last year from Fortune. CNNMoney mobile recorded 12 million unique visitors in April, the highest total on record. And visitors to CNNMoney watched 26.1 million videos in April, up 255 percent vs. the prior year.
“CNNMoney’s record breaking month is a testament to the excellent stories our incredible team is producing every day,” said Ed O’Keefe, vice president of CNNMoney and CNNPolitics, in a statement. “We made a commitment to our users to deliver simple, smart and relevant news through ambitious journalism, and we are excited to continue delivering on that promise to support our users in achieving their financial goals.”
Bloomberg also rose to No. 5 from No. 7 in March.
The top three sites remain Yahoo Finance, Business Insider and Forbes.
