CNBC’s Delevingne hired by Reuters

Lawrence DelevingneLawrence Delevingne, a CNBC.com staff writer, has been hired by Reuters to cover hedge funds.

He starts at Reuters on July 20.

Delevingne, who covered a “big money” beat for CNBC, had previously covered hedge funds for Absolute Return. At CNBC, he had focused on large money managers, especially hedge and private equity funds.

Before joining Absolute Return in April 2010, Delevingne was a staff writer at Business Insider. He has also written for Fortune and BusinessWeek.

Prior to journalism, Delevingne worked in communications, specializing in corporate responsibility at Burson Marsteller. He holds a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.

At Georgetown, he studied international affairs, focusing on Africa.
