CNBC West Coast correspondent leaves for marketing job

Jerry Cobb, senior West Coast correspondent for CNBC, is leaving the business news cable network to oversee the marketing and communications efforts of a Phoenix-based software company.

Jerry CobbCobb is being hired to develop new strategies for promoting Kolbe Corp.’s flagship product, the Kolbe Index, which measures an individual’s conative makeup, or natural instinctive strengths, according to a news release.

“As a journalist I covered countless business success stories and failures, nearly all of which were related to human factors,” said Cobb. “I am eager to help companies and individuals use Kolbe to focus on this human dimension and leverage innate talents to overcome odds and achieve high level goals.”

Prior to CNBC, Cobb was a writer, producer and reporter for Financial News Network. His work earned him a William Benton Fellowship in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Chicago. Cobb is a graduate of Brown University.
