CNBC hires reporter in San Francisco

Nik Deogun, senior vice president and editor in chief of CNBC, sent out the following announcement on Monday:

I am pleased to announce that Aditi Roy is joining CNBC as a general assignment reporter based in San Francisco, effective July 18th.

Aditi comes to us from ABC News where she was a West Coast correspondent reporting for all of the network’s broadcasts and platforms.  There, she covered a wide range of stories from consumer-facing products and a Delphi self-driving car to the 2013 Target breach and severe weather across the West.  Prior to joining ABC News, Aditi worked at NBC10 in Philadelphia where she anchored morning and evening newscasts.  She began her career in journalism as a reporter and photographer at KLKN-TV in Lincoln, Nebraska and later worked as a reporter for KHQ-TV in Spokane, Washington.

Aditi holds a B.A. in political science from UC Berkeley as well as an M.A. in political science from Stanford University and an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University.  In 2012, Aditi received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
