Business news channel CNBC has struck a deal to appear on UPC Broadband Slovakia, the largest cable television operator in that country.

Starting Sept. 2, CNBC will be available on UPC’s Digitálna televízia BASIC package. The agreement is the first platform deal for CNBC in Slovakia.

“Our agreement with UPC Broadband enables viewers in Slovakia to watch the latest global business news and analysis, and access CNBC’s real-time data,” said Antony Lilleyman, vice president of commercial, EMEA at CNBC, in a statement. “We continue to grow our footprint across the region as operators recognise CNBC’s expertise in the market.”

In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, CNBC is available in more than 130 million households, 1,400 banks and financial institutions and the majority of four- and five-star hotel rooms. Globally the network reaches more than 395 million homes.
