CNBC.com managing editor Jeff McCracken sent out the following announcement on Thursday:

I am pleased to announce Brian Schwartz will join CNBC.com as a reporter, covering the fundraising side of politics. He will write about where the money is coming from – and where it is going – as outsiders jockey to influence political races across the country. Brian will report to Mike Calia and join his growing politics team. He will be based in Englewood Cliffs.

Brian comes to CNBC from Fox Business, where he was a news producer for Charlie Gasparino since 2016. Previously, he worked at Fox News as a production assistant for the network’s dayside programming. Brian began his career as a production assistant at the NFL Network, responsible for producing game-day highlights each week.

Brian was born and raised in Briarcliff Manor, New York. He graduated from Dickinson College after providing play-by-play commentary for the lovable Red Devils’ football, basketball and baseball teams.

Brian will start in early April. Please say hello to him when he gets here.
