knox_noelleNoelle Knox, the editor of CFO Journal at The Wall Street Journal, has resigned to join Politico to become technology editor of the soon-to-launch Politico Europe.

Her first day is April 20, and Politico Europe launches April 21.

“This was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made,” said Knox in a telephone interview. “I worked my whole career to get here. I loved the Journal. My father worked here for 27 years on the business side, and my birth announcement is on Wall Street Journal stationery. This was really hard.”

Previously, Knox was a visiting professor of business journalism at Louisiana State University.

She has more than 20 years of journalism experience in newspapers, magazines, TV, radio and online. She has also worked for The Associated Press, USA Today, The New York Times, Bloomberg News, and The Detroit News.

Knox has been interviewed on CBS News, CNBC and CSPAN, among others. Noelle Knox has reported news from 16 foreign countries and a dozen US states. She has covered some of the biggest stories of our time, including the recent U.S. real estate and financial crisis, the Sept. 11 attacks on New York, the death of Pope John Paul II from the Vatican, NATO operations from Afghanistan, and the dot-com bust of 2000.

She holds a degree in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
