Had a few beers last night in New York with an editor at The Wall Street Journal and asked him about his casual dress since he had just come from work.

He said that Thursday’s at the Journal are known as “Pro Forma Fridays.”

Why? Since many people don’t work on Fridays, the casual dress day in the newsroom is now Thursday.
