OLD Media Moves

Business journal in Northwest is sold

January 26, 2011

The Coast River Business Journal, which reports business news in parts of Oregon and Washington, has been sold to  Community Media Inc., a Nebraska newspaper company, for an undisclosed amount.

A story on the Seaside Signal’s site states, “The 5-year-old business journal currently serves Clatsop and Tillamook counties in Oregon, and Pacific and Wahkiakum counties in Washington.

“‘We think this acquisition will be a great fit for our group of Oregon newspapers,’ he said.

“In addition to the Signal, Country Media owns the community newspapers in Tillamook, St. Helens, Cannon Beach and Lincoln City, Ore.

“‘The footprint of those publications aligns nicely with the Coast River Business Journal’s coverage area,’ said Hungerford. ‘Our writers and marketing associates at those publications will bring significant value to the business journal, and vice versa.'”
