Book on Greenspan wins FT Business Book of the Year award

Screen Shot 2016-11-22 at 6.03.22 PMSebastian Mallaby, the author of  “The Man Who Knew: The Life and Times of Alan Greenspan,” is the winner of the 2016 Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award.

The biography of one of the titans of recent financial history brilliantly shows the subtlety and complexity of Alan Greenspan’s legacy.

The award recognizes the book that provides the most compelling and enjoyable insight into modern business issues. It was presented Tuesday to Mallaby at a ceremony at The National Gallery in London by Lionel Barber, editor of the Financial Times and chair of the panel of judgesMallaby is the Paul A. Volcker senior fellow for international economics at the Council on Foreign Relations and contributing columnist at the Washington Post. Formerly, he was a contributing editor for the Financial Times and a columnist and editorial board member at the Washington Post.

“‘The Man Who Knew’ is an impressive work of scholarship,” said Barber in a statement. “It is a masterpiece of political economy, and above all it is a great and enjoyable read.”
