Kellie Geressy-Nilsen, a bond reporter for Dow Jones Newswires, is leaving the operation for a job at Fitch Ratings.

In an e-mail to the staff on Wednesday, she wrote:

After nearly two decades, today is my last day at Dow Jones Newswires.   I’d like to say a fond farewell and thank you to those I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years.  First — a final and well deserved shout-out to Eduardo Kaplan, under whose guidance Newswires became the amazing fountain of information it is today.  Special thanks also to Neal Lipschutz, who is as fine a team leader as he is a writer. Both of you have been true mentors, and I will be eternally grateful.

Along the way, I’ve also been guided by a gaggle of editors — most recently Mark Stein, who is as good as they get. Mark has been amazing, having both helped me fine-tune my writing and gain an even broader market perspective. Under heavy deadlines and other varied acts of juggling, Mark has managed the fixed income team with kindness, compassion and precision – a rare find these days- and it has been a true pleasure working with him.

Best of luck to my colleague Michael Aneiro who just began blogging for Barron’s and special thanks to colleague and muni reporter extraordinaire Kelly Nolan who helped to made fixed income bearable, even when in a bull market. Kathleen Madigan – thanks for the daily BIG PICTURE – always entertaining and insightful.

Thanks also to all on the spot/features/market news desks – who never grew tired of reminding me that if it’s Tuesday, it is in fact, not at all Monday.

The work you do is important and you make all of us look better on a daily basis. You guys/gals have been great and I will miss you all.

Over the years I’ve also been blessed to have made lifelong friends for which I’m very grateful – you know who you are and I look forward to many more years of laughs and good times.
