Wall Street Journal editor Gerard Baker sent out the following announcement on Tuesday:

I’m sorry to announce that Rebecca Blumenstein is leaving Dow Jones to take up a senior position at The New York Times.

In her 22 years with us Rebecca has been a peerless exponent and advocate of the very highest quality journalism. As a reporter, bureau chief and editor, she has brought an uncommon energy, decency, warmth and integrity to every story she has been involved with. In the last decade she has held a series of increasingly senior positions, leading our international coverage, our digital output, Page One and of course most recently as deputy editor. She has been a singularly principled and dignified leader and a great mentor and friend to so many colleagues here.

Please join me in expressing our gratitude to Rebecca for her outstanding contribution over a long and distinguished career at Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal.
