Bloomberg to combine Gadfly, View into one site
Bloomberg plans to combine its Bloomberg Gadfly and Bloomberg View operations into one site called Bloomberg Opinion, according to tweets from executive editor Tim O’Brien.
Hey Alex. No wings trimmed. We’re just consolidating all of our commentary into one site. Gadfly writers and View writers will become Bloomberg Opinion columnists. The WSJ published its piece without talking to me, @davidjshipley, or anyone else in NY and it’s inaccurate. https://t.co/gpyb6n28aL

The tweets were in response to a Wall Street Journal article. In another tweet, O’Brien wrote, “Still hiring. Still growing.”
Gadfly was launched in November 2015 and contains fast-turnaround analysis pieces in the range of 400 to 800 words about breaking business, finance and economics news. Most Gadfly articles include charts and data.
Its articles are distributed to subscribers of the Bloomberg terminal 15 minutes before they appear free at bloomberg.com/gadfly.
Bloomberg View contains more general commentary and analysis about topics that include politics.
