Bloomberg seeks ag commodities reporter in Brazil

Bloomberg News is expanding its coverage of agricultural commodities and is seeking an experienced reporter to cover agricultural markets and related companies in Brazil.

We’re looking for someone who can break the biggest stories on the beat while also being able to write authoritatively about the inner workings of this vitally important industry.

The successful candidate must be comfortable interviewing executives in the boardroom as well as farmers out in the field. We’re looking for an aggressive reporter, but someone who is also accurate and thoughtful. And they must able to work as part of a multinational team, as well as collaborating with Bloomberg’s website, TV, radio and Bloomberg Businessweek magazine.

The successful candidate will have several years of experience of business or economic news reporting in a real-time environment, ideally with good knowledge of the agriculture and commodity markets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese
  • Experience working in a real-time news environment
  • Experience at a major newspaper or wire service preferred
  • Knowledge of the economy, financial markets, business is essential
  • Ability to write quickly, concisely and accurately in English under deadline pressure
