OLD Media Moves

Bloomberg executive editor to become tech columnist

May 7, 2009

Bloomberg News executive editor Rich Jaroslovsky will become a technology columnist for the news service later this month, according to a memo posted on the Romenesko site.

Jaroslovsky writes, “As many of you know, the subject matter is a long-standing passion of mine, and the new role will also allow me to relocate to my ancestral homeland in the San Francisco Bay Area once my daughter finishes school in 2010.

“Leaving my current role will be bittersweet. I will miss working with all of you on a day-to-day basis, and will always take great pride in the accomplishments of the last five years in our economic, government, political and world-news coverage. At the same time, I well know that it’s your skills, dedication and professionalism that were responsible for every achievement of those five years. In Dan Moss and Ken Fireman, you are led by two of the finest journalists it’s been my privilege to work with, and I have every confidence in the direction they will chart for the future.

“My last day in my current role will be May 22, which gives me a little time yet to come up with some profound parting words of wisdom.”
