Mary Beth Lohman, the publisher of Pacific Business News, a weekly business newspaper in Honolulu run by American Cit Business Journals, has resigned her position effective March 9.

A story on the paper’s website states, “Advertising Director Bob Charlet will succeed her and become publisher on March 2.

“Lohman says this change will allow her to catch her breath just a bit and to spend more time with her family and her 12-year-old son. Her last day at PBN will be March 9.

“‘Mary Beth has always epitomized the caring, family-focused spirit of Hawaii, so her decision isn’t surprising,’ said Whitney Shaw, president of American City Business Journals, PBN’s parent company. ‘While I’m certainly sad that Mary Beth is leaving PBN, I can think of no better reason than her wanting to spend time with her son and husband. We all wish Mary Beth only the best.’

“Among her accomplishments as publisher, Lohman oversaw a redesign that included restoring the paper to its original tabloid size, and she recently relocated the paper’s office from Waikiki to downtown Honolulu.”
