Biz journalist Narisetti to join Washington Post as ME?

Russell Adams of The Wall Street Journal writes Tuesday that the next managing editor of the Washington Post could be Raju Narisetti, a well-known business journalist who stepped down last month as the top editor of Mint, a business newspaper in India.

Adams points out that Narisetti and Marcus Brauchli, the executive editor at the Post, worked closely together at the Journal.

Adams writes, “One strong candidate to play a key role is Raju Narisetti, who recently left his job as editor of Mint, a business newspaper in India, according to people familiar with the situation. Mr. Narisetti was a longtime colleague of Mr. Brauchli, who became executive editor of the Post in the fall after a career at The Wall Street Journal.

“Both Mr. Brauchli and Mr. Narisetti had long careers at the Journal that included a period in which Mr. Narisetti was editor of the paper’s European edition and reported to Mr. Brauchli, who was global news editor.

“Mr. Brauchli said through a Post spokeswoman he ‘has not yet named anyone to succeed Phil or Jim.'”
