Aleshia Howe, the managing editor of the Fort Worth Business Press in Texas, writes goodbye to her readers and notes hat her time in business journalism has been anything but boring.

Howe writes, ‘I even brought my dog, Belle, up when she was 8 weeks old. It was a deadline day and I sat beside the only other reporter at the time, current Business Press Editor Robert “Bob” Francis, who had a penchant for turning in stories at the last minute – and who also loved puppies.

“Just as Bob picked up Belle to give her a little snuggle, she did what dogs do best and peed all over him.

“Well, as usual Bob still had two stories to finish and about two hours to do it so he didn’t have time to go home. So I ran down to the executive offices and found the only piece of clothing Rich Connor had hanging in a small closet: a cashmere sweater.

“And even though it was summer and above 100 degrees out, Bob pulled on that sweater and typed faster than I’ve ever seen him type before.

“I’m still pretty sure he hates my dog.”
