Wall Street Journal Washington bureau chief Paul Beckett sent out the following message to the staff:

All: Please welcome Sadie Gurman to the Washington bureau, where she will join our excellent Justice Department coverage team.

Sadie comes to us from the Associated Press, where she has done an outstanding job breaking stories and covering Attorney General Jeff Sessions and those around him. Sadie brings a lot of talent, energetic reporting, and an ability to develop sensitive sources.

Del and Aruna know her well, and we know she’ll be a great colleague to have around the office.

Before coming to Washington, Sadie worked for the AP in Denver, where she covered federal law enforcement and established a reputation as a standout reporter.

Our coverage of the Justice Department and turbulent times in law enforcement has been first-rate; Sadie’s addition will broaden and deepen that coverage, enabling us to break more stories and delve into more enterprise.

Please make Sadie welcome when she joins us on Monday, April 30.
