April Fools’: Quartz hires artificially intelligent tech reporter

Marvin PrimeBusiness news site Quartz announced Wednesday that it has hired tech reporter Marvin Prime, whose insights are entirely the product of artificial intelligence.

A story on its website states, “‘We believe our global reporting needs a local touch — that’s why we look for hires with on-the-ground experience and language skills,’ Quartz editor-in-chief Kevin Delaney said. ‘Creating a reporter who is fluent in Markov chaining to cover Silicon Valley was a no-brainer.’

Bowing to trends in the media industry, Prime will publish all of his insights directly to Twitter. Follow @MarvinPrime for his wisdom.”

“‘I am continually surprised how many people in tech are open to constructive criticism from the media,’ Prime said.”
