Reporter Kimberly Pierceall has been hired to cover gambling and tourism for The Associated Press in Nevada.

An AP story states, “Pierceall, 32, joins the AP from the Orange County Register, where she has worked as a reporter since 2012 covering the city of Irvine and its ongoing efforts to develop what has been envisioned as a West Coast version of New York’s Central Park.

“Previously Pierceall worked for seven years as a reporter for The Riverside Press-Enterprise covering business, producing investigative stories and leading digital news initiatives, including serving as an online news host.

“During her time in Riverside, she covered gambling and tourism issues in the Palm Springs area and activities at the San Bernardino International Airport where the FBI led a raid seeking evidence of bribery, fraud and conspiracy. She completed internships with Bloomberg News and The Wall Street Journal.

“Her stories have been honored by the California Newspaper Publishers Association, the Society of American Business Editors and Writers and the Inland chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.”
