Jeremy Fugleberg, the new editor of the Sioux Falls Business Journal, writes about what it’s like to take over a business weekly and his plans.

Fugleberg writes, “With a change in Business Journal leadership comes a chance to take stock of the way things are and look for chances to improve, and I need your help.

“Over the past few weeks I’ve met or reintroduced myself to many folks here, including business leaders, small business owners and old college friends. I’ve heard a lot of respect for the value the Business Journal has as a news source. But I’ve also heard a call for deep, thoughtful articles that explore underneath the flaky crust of Sioux Falls’ growth. I’ve heard from people who love the print edition, but also those who only use their phones to read what’s going on, via our apps and social media.

“Everybody wants more. That’s a good problem, and a challenge we can meet. The Business Journal can be more, and better, for all types of loyal readers.

“I’m currently mapping out some changes to the Business Journal, examining ways we can become more responsive to readers, with more unique, concise content that both investigates and celebrates Sioux Falls and its business community.”
